The University of Missouri – Columbia’s (UMC’s) Missouri Spatial Data Information Service (MSDIS) hosts the Geospatial Training Center (GTC) in the Department of Geography’s Spatial Analysis and Modeling (SPAM) Lab. The Center utilizes existing University resources and addresses the need for a geospatial training facility in the Mid-Missouri region. While there are several training facilities in central Missouri few – if any – are dedicated to providing geospatial training.
GTC Training Options
Remote Training
ESRI Authorized Instructor, laptop systems, GIS software and class materials travel to you and your organization. Best for 5 or more students – cheaper too!

Onsite Training
Classes are offered during University semester breaks and during the summer break utilizing the SPAM Lab facility. While slightly more expensive due to lab rental costs the undisturbed training experience is often better for students who wish for training away from job sites and interruptions.

Additional information
The GTC is an available resource to trainers, instructors, agencies, businesses and vendors to provide geospatial training during summer and semester breaks at the University.
The Stewart Hall facility is located in the pleasant “White” campus portion of the University. It boasts a modern networked computer lab with the full suite of ESRI software already in place, computer projector and seats for as many as 25 students. System administration and computer support will be on call prior to, during and after classes. Instructor aides can also be made available. Parking (via parking pass) is included in the student price. Refreshments breaks, including lunch, can be arranged. Student / agency or business billing can be managed by the Geospatial Training Center also.
