GIS User Groups
Scattered across the state of Missouri are people who use Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in their daily activities to better manage Missouri's resources. Groups have been formed to precipitate networking and education for those users of GIS. GIS Conferences offer a broader range of contacts with other GIS professionals and the GIS vendor community.
As a user or potential user of GIS software and data, these groups and conferences will help you network with others, deal with some of the problems with the implementation of GIS and learn how others are using GIS in their day-to-day activities. Mandates, legislation, upcoming conferences and hardware and software advances are also areas of discussion that take place at these meetings and conferences.
The benefits of a users group are evident. The level of knowledge and experience and a willingness to share those with others gives you access to a great resource. Please keep checking back to see meeting announcements and user group information, as well as contact persons, newsletters and tips and tricks.
